Yaadie Hands Jamaica Ltd ("we", "us") respects your privacy. This notice explains what personal data we collect through this website, why we collect it, who we share it with and what rights you have, in line with Jamaica's Data Protection Act, 2020.

Who we are

We are the data controller for the information described here.

What we collect, and when

When you place an order

  • Your name, email address and phone number
  • Your delivery address, or the pickup location you choose
  • Order details — items, quantities, totals and delivery fee
  • Your payment method and, for bank transfers, your payment reference

If you create an account

  • Your email address and a password — stored only as a secure one-way hash, never in plain text
  • Saved delivery addresses and saved (favourite) products
  • Your order history, so you can track and reorder
  • Your basket, if you reach checkout without ordering — so we can remind you what you left behind. It is cleared as soon as you place the order, and you can ask us to delete it at any time.

If you contact us or use our other services

  • Messages you send through the contact form
  • Wholesale enquiries — your business contact details, the products and volumes you need
  • Landscaping & eco-tourism bookings — your contact details, preferred date, party size and details about the property or location
  • Back-in-stock alerts — the email address you ask us to notify
  • Newsletter sign-ups — your email address

If you leave a review

The name you give and your rating and comments. Approved reviews are published publicly on the product page, so please use only the name you are happy for other shoppers to see.

Technical information

  • Your IP address, used to rate-limit forms and block spam and abuse
  • Cookies, described below

Card details

We do not collect or store your card details. Today we accept bank transfer and cash on collection or delivery, so no card data reaches this website. If we enable online card payment in future, you will be taken to the payment provider's own secure checkout to enter your card details, and we will only receive confirmation of the payment result.

Why we use it

  • To perform our contract with you — to take, pack, deliver and support your order, and to manage your account.
  • With your consent — to send you marketing emails such as our seasonal newsletter, and back-in-stock alerts you ask for. You can withdraw consent at any time.
  • For our legitimate interests — to keep the site secure, prevent spam and fraud, respond to enquiries and improve our service.
  • To meet legal obligations — to keep sales, tax and accounting records.

Cookies

We use a small number of cookies that are necessary for the site to work:

  • A basket cookie that remembers what you have added, for about 14 days
  • A sign-in cookie that keeps you logged in to your account

We do not currently use advertising or tracking cookies. If we add analytics in future, we will update this notice first.

Who we share it with

We never sell your personal data. We share it only where needed to run the service:

  • Our email provider, to send order confirmations, account emails and newsletters
  • Our hosting provider, which stores the website and its database
  • The people who deliver your order, who receive the delivery details they need
  • Our bank or payment provider, to confirm your payment
  • Professional advisers or authorities, where the law requires it

Some of these providers process data on servers outside Jamaica. Where that happens we rely on reputable providers who are contractually required to protect your data and use it only on our instructions.

How long we keep it

  • Order and payment records — for as long as needed to meet our tax and accounting obligations
  • Account details — until you ask us to close your account
  • Newsletter sign-ups — until you unsubscribe
  • Enquiries, bookings and messages — for a reasonable period after the matter is closed

Keeping it safe

The site runs over an encrypted HTTPS connection, passwords are stored as one-way hashes, and access to customer data is limited to the people who need it to run the business. No system is perfectly secure, but we take these obligations seriously.

Your rights

Under the Data Protection Act, 2020 you have the right to:

  • Ask what personal data we hold about you and get a copy
  • Have inaccurate data corrected
  • Ask us to delete your data, where we have no continuing obligation to keep it
  • Object to, or ask us to restrict, how we use your data
  • Withdraw your consent to marketing at any time
  • Ask us to transfer your data to another provider, where that applies

Children

This site is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has given us their details, contact us and we will delete them.

Changes to this notice

If we change how we handle your data we will update this page and the "last updated" date above.
